ShoeShowdown's footwear reviews and comparisons include affiliate links to shoes and related accessories. A qualifying purchase after a reader follows a retail link can earn the website a commission. The retailer supplies that payment; it does not increase the reader's price to account for the referral.
As an Amazon Associate, this website earns from qualifying purchases.
Match the shoe to its purpose
Commission does not choose the footwear we recommend. Intended activity, sizing information, upper materials and sole construction are more useful guides than a referral rate. A trail shoe, a work boot and an everyday sneaker need to be judged against different requirements.
Before ordering, verify the exact model, width and size system on the listing. Similar product names can cover different versions, and a size that works in one style need not work in another. Check the retailer's return conditions while you can still compare options. Manufacturer sizing charts and product specifications cited in an article are reference information to help you assess that choice.
